Some of my earliest and best memories as a little kid are going to the symphony in downtown Pittsburgh. I think this is a big part of why I like music so much, especially classical music. It’s never to early to start learning about music and the instruments that make it. So here are some fun links to get you started.
Learn about Instruments – an easy guide to learning about all the different instruments; strings, woodwinds, percussion, and more!
SFS Kids – the San Fransisco Symphony kids site, absolutely full of fun information. Learn more about the different instruments and where the belong in the orchestra. Be sure to check out the music lab, where you can experiment with tempo, rhythm, pitch, and harmony, and even make your own tunes!
DSO Kids – the Dallas Symphony kids site, another great source for music fun. It has tips for practicing your music, an instrument encyclopedia where you can even listen to the different instruments, and lots of musical games.
