Just a note… both my boys were early talkers, so we really didn’t use baby sign language much BUT we have found that learning some basic signs has been EXTREMELY helpful just in everyday life. For example, when someone gives your child something and they forget to say “thank you” you can subtly sign it to them as a reminder. Or, recently, when my 5 year old was sitting in a group led by a teacher, and he started to wiggle and slide out of his chair, I caught his eye and signed “sit!” and when he did, I signed “good boy”. It was very helpful to be able to communicate with him silently.
