Safe Web Surfing for Kids with Glubble
June 26, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Isn’t that a great name? Glubble is a new plugin for Firefox that allows kids to surf the web safely, showing only the best of the web that parents choose to allow. It causes Google and Yahoo search results to show only content from the trusted “Glubbleworld” instead of the entire web. It also has a “child friendly look and feel with interfaces for pre-reading and reading age young children.”
Are you an Internet Explorer user? I used to be too, and once I switched to Firefox, I never looked back. Click on the banner below to give it a try. There is very little difference between the latest version IE and Firefox, so it will be an easy change to make!

Find Nemo Wallpaper
June 13, 2007 | 3 Comments
Any Finding Nemo fans out there? Here’s a fun Nemo wallpaper I created to help entertain your little ones when you just need them to sit still for a minute! Nemo is in 3 places in the wallpaper among all the other fish. Another option, once they’ve found all 3 Nemos is to ask them to count the yellow fish, purple fish, etc. To use the wallpaper, click on the image or link above to open the JPG and then right-click and choose Set as Desktop Background, or Set as Wallpaper. This is a 1024×768 image, but it looked great stretched to fill up my enormous monitor.

Classical Music Site for Kids
June 12, 2007 | Leave a Comment
The radio show, “Classics for Kids” has a wonderful website that I just discovered and am so excited to share it with you! You can listen to current and past week shows as well as play games such as the Note Name Game and Rockin’ Rhythm Master, and you can even compose your own music. It’s a great site for kids to get familiar with instruments, composers and classical music in general. The Musical Dictionary has recordings of how all the instruments sound, and if click on Hear the Music, you can listen to entire pieces of great classical music.
